Figures[edit source]

For what it's worth, the figure is more accurately something like "less than 20 % globally" (and <25 in USA), see m:Research:Gender_gap. Doesn't change your point! Nemo (talk) 13:36, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Women editing[edit source]

I teach a class with an assignment to learn to edit Wikipedia. One year out most of the women have stopped editing. The men continue. The reasons are simple..the editors who delete with glee, cruelly on Notability (mostly on women-related topics) and disparaging comments from the editors. I have been doing this 10 years. The editors continue to be mean, the women continue to leave. Why would anyone stay to be belittled? There is no recourse for this. I have also noted several editors who appear when the class is taught and seem to delight in speedy deletions. I know who they are and have tracked this behavior but don't have the capacity to figure out how to get this addressed.Kmccook (talk) 15:03, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
