[edit source]

Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group is a Wikimedia Community about Turkic World. Our community, which has more than 80 participants from approximately 17 countries, consists of users who can speak Turkic languages and are interested in this field. I will inform you about the activities of our community.

Description

[edit source]

As Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group, we have organized many events since the day we were founded. I will also talk about the most well-known of these, the Turkic Marathon, and the Wikidata Istanbul Conference, our first international conference held in 2022. After the conference, I will share data such as the efficiency statistics of the participants with you and tell you what we have achieved I would also like to talk about how we brought people from many Turkic countries together, how the operation progressed, and our future plans.

Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?

Our community is made up of members of many Turkic states and neighboring communities. Here all, we are working for a common target; Improve Turkic heritage and culture on Wikimedia projects. While one of us is writing about the traditions in Turkiye, one of us is writing about the traditions in the Republic of Sakha. This is an example of the diversity in our community. An example of cooperation is the Turkic Marathons, which we traditionally organize every year. In these marathons, we translate articles on Turkic countries and cultures from Wikipedias in Turkic languages into our local languages. With the Wikidata Istanbul Conference, which we have just held for the first time, we aimed that our community members have detailed information about Wikidata and various topics and that they can use them in the future by reinforcing them.
