Hi! I am Max Fischer, a Fellow at the Wikimedia Foundation’s Human Right’s Team. One aspect of our work is to create more awareness of the digital safety risks and encourage community members to take steps to protect themselves. To this end we are providing trainings at various community events, provide resources on our Meta page, creating learning modules on learn.wiki, and (hopefully) create a digital safety clinic for Wikimania.

Digital safety is not one size fits all. Depending on who you are, what technologies you use and what jurisdiction you are based in, your interaction with digital technologies and the threats surrounding them differ quite significantly. Through this clinic, which will include trainers from different parts of the world we hope to create context specific awareness and answer question community members may have.
