Thérèse Ottawa

Atikamekw iskwew de Manawan. Wikipédienne depuis 2016, Thérèse Ottawa est l’une des instigatrices des projets autochtones au Canada, notamment Wikipetcia Atikamekw Nehiromowin. Dans la vraie vie, elle est technicienne en multimédia, secrétaire de direction, pour le service éducatif de Manawan. Elle est le référent officiel du WikiClub Metapeckeka et membre du groupe d’utilisateurs Wikimedia des langues autochtones d’Amérique du Nord. Une de ses passions est l’art visuel, notamment la photographie terrestre et aérienne (drones) et cinéaste à l’ONF. Thérèse participe à de nombreuses activités sur le territoire Nitaskinan avec les jeunes et les aînés de sa nation, par exemple l’approvisionnement de l’expédition Tapiskwan Sipi, le concours photo Nanto masinatcikan, l'Expédition des Premières Nations et Motetan Mamo.

The first online encyclopedia in North America of an Aboriginal language, Atikamekw, which remains a tool for the promotion and revitalization of the native language. It is also a platform to create Reconciliation between peoples.

The first online encyclopedia in North America of a native language that is Atikamekw and that remains a tool for the promotion and revitalization of the mother tongue. It is also a platform to create Reconciliation between peoples everywhere and a springboard for the affirmation of our identity as a plurimillennial people.

Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?

This is the first online encyclopedia of a multi-millennial language and we have our version of human history and its evolution here in North America. To present the versions of history of the natives in North America and to gather to make a video documentary translated in several languages.
