2025:Meetups/Global Youth Meetup

The Global Youth Meetup is taking place in 8 August 2025 from 17:15 to 19:15. Location is Outdoor Space, floor 2.

It's a meeting that intends to bring the young people under 30 who attend Wikimania 2025 in Nairobi together, acting as a place to unite the youth, increase youth collaboration, share new ideas and discussions.

Its inspired from the Youth Conference 2025, who took place in Prague in May. The agenda is under construction.

Time	Session Title	Description
17:15 – 17:30	Welcome & Icebreakers	Kick off the meetup with warm greetings and introductions. Participants share their name, country, and Wikimedia affiliation. A fun icebreaker that helps everyone connect quickly.
17:30 – 17:45	Context & Inspiration	Brief presentation on the goals of the meetup and its link to the Youth Conference 2025 held in Prague. Explains why youth spaces at Wikimania matter and what we aim to build here.
17:45 – 18:15	Youth Voices: Lightning Talks	3–4 youth participants each give a 5-minute talk sharing their work, ideas, or challenges in the movement. Optionally includes 1–2 spontaneous shares from the audience.
18:15 – 18:40	Breakout Groups: Youth in Action	Participants split into small groups based on chosen topics (e.g., building local youth hubs, barriers to participation, global youth initiatives). Each group discusses and documents key ideas.
18:40 – 19:00	Collective Sharing & Idea Harvest	Each breakout group presents their key insights and proposed actions. Discussion follows on common themes and next steps. Shared notes can feed into a youth report or future collaboration.
19:00 – 19:10	Building a Youth Network	Open discussion on how to continue youth collaboration beyond Wikimania. Ideas for mailing lists, group chats, online events, or working groups. Invite participants to join a shared contact list.
19:10 – 19:15	Wrap-Up & Group Photo	Final reflections from participants. Expression of thanks. End the session with a cheerful group photo to celebrate youth presence at Wikimania 2025.
