Since 2023 in Italy a web app is used to find monuments and upload photos for Wiki Loves Monuments. In 2024 the app was also used by the organizers of Wiki Loves Monuments Ireland. Now it is available for all local organizers and we want to share its features with the community.

Description

The web app https://app.wikilovesmonuments.it/ is used in Italy and Ireland to manage Wiki Loves Monuments campaigns. It allows you to search for monuments in contest, upload photographs and in 2025 new features will be available to encourage participation in the competition and support the work of local organizers. It is managed by Wikimedia Italia and the aim is to spread its use in other countries, especially where the organizing team has few resources for the organization of the competition. The web app allows you to upload photographs even outside the competition.

A single webapp for different countries can facilitate the organization and reduce the efforts for Wiki Loves Monuments by allowing an international collaboration and faster resolution of any problems. It can also allow organizing teams with fewer resources to use a useful product for their contests.
