One year after the ratification of Universal Code of Conduct and the establishment of the Coordinating Committee (U4C), has the UCoC been successful in achieving its objectives? has the existence of the Coordinating Committee important? What has been achieved and what challenges have emerged over the past year? What is next and what is required of everyone?

Description

Last year, the Universal code of conduct was voted on by the community after years of drafting and preparation. and Wikimedia foundation ratified it, making it effective starting in 2024. and also there was elections of Members of the coordinating committee which responsible for implementing the UCoC. Many may wonder whether the UCoC is truly relevant and has it achieved its goal of protecting the community members from harmful behavior. What is the evaluation of the experience one year on? What challenges and issues have emerged, and what have been achieved?

The lecture will answer many of the questions and will be presented by members of the Coordinating Committee to explain everything important about the UCoC and all related points, and What is the Next.

The Universal Code of Conduct is an important part of Wikimedia in general, and certainly has a significant impact on the movement and also seeks to ensure sustainability and inclusivity.
