How do you get more people to listen to your music and get better information about the artists? The Slovak Comprehensive Music Database is being built as a Wikibase instance to connect Wikidata, Wikipedia, a music encyclopedia and a music rights organization.
Description
Slovak Comprehensive Music Database is an ongoing project. As streaming platforms often get data about the artists they stream from Wikidata and Wikipedia, it makes sense to connect Wikidata and Wikipedia to sources of good data: the Music Centre Slovakia (Q106232242) and Slovak Performing and Mechanical Rights Society (Q23001658). The Slovak Comprehensive Music Database will periodically update in both directions: the wikiverse and the organizational databases. I will offer a Wikimedian's point of view of the conceptual issues, the technical, legal and organizational matters and the outcome of this project. The goal is to inspire communities to achieve similar successes.
