As part of the implementation of the Wikimedia movement's 2030 strategy, the communities in the Great Lakes region of Africa have adopted a collaborative and inclusive approach, with a particular emphasis on the 6th recommendation aimed at investing in the leadership skills development of their members. This initiative is divided into two main phases: Diagnosis and Awareness, and Consolidation and Action.

Description

During this presentation, we will examine the initiatives undertaken regarding awareness-raising and skills development, highlighting training for editors and the creation of local content. We will discuss the lessons learned, the successes achieved, and the challenges faced, while providing perspectives on leadership and inclusivity in the region.

By relying on concrete examples, this presentation aims to inspire other communities by emphasizing the importance of local engagement and collaboration to create a sustainable impact.
