This workshop provides a clear how-to and walkthrough on creating sheet music and recordings to provide a public-domain audio and visual resources for songs to help the public identify the source, which could also be used to complement articles on songs in Wikipedia.
Description
This workshop would begin by a brief introduction on the project, and reasons as to why we need to create public-domain illustrations in the form of audio of videos to cover old songs. The workshop would introduce the tools used for the occassion: Denemo and Inkscape which are proprietary and requires no cost to download (to ensure legality). The workshop would then proceed to go to the how-to of making the sheet music and audio: from searching references of the music sheet of the song, transcribing the music sheet, converting it to visual and audio files, as well as how to use in in Wikimedia projects and outside of it.
