We will review major Wikimedia tools available to Wikimedian and Wiktionaries communities to documents worlds languages.

This session will explore key Wikimedia tools and platforms that support linguistic documentation and revitalization efforts. 1. Community Needs: Many communities seek to bring their language to Wikimedia, ensuring digital presence and preservation. 2. Language Diversity Hub: A coordination space for underrepresented language communities. 3. Incubator.wikimedia.org: A platform for developing new Wikimedia projects in emerging languages. 4. Tools for Linguistic Documentation and Integration - Wikidata Queries: A tool for structuring and retrieving linguistic data. - Wikitongues: A global initiative supporting oral history recordings and language preservation. - Lingua Libre (v3): A tool for mass voice recordings, aiding Wiktionary and Wikidata. - WDAudioLex: A Wikidata tool linking audio pronunciations to lexical data. 5. Projects and Grants: Supporting Language Innovation - WikiTutur & WikiTada: Wikimedia-supported projects fostering language innovation. - Wiktionaries & NamesOfTheLands: Expanding lexicons and preserving place names. 6. Valorisation : - Anki & Other OER Tools: Using Wikimedia linguistic data for language learning.

We document minority languages. This encourage those communities to collaborate with Wikimedia, possibly to open new incubator wikipedias.

- Hugo Lopez
- Hugo Lopez is a former sinologist, Wikimedian in residence (University of Toulouse), senior Wikimedian for 2 decades. In past decade, Hugo helped document hundreds languages as the main coordinator of Wikimediaâs language diversity recording project Lingualibre.org. He also co-maintainer SignIt, a sign language web extension and work on a Whistled Occitan dictionary.
