In this session we will explore the banner fundraising run by the Wikimedia Foundation. It will give participants an overview of the programme and a chance to contribute ideas to further the banner messages.

Description

We will start with giving the participants an overview of the banner fundraising campaigns we run globally and introduce them to the community collaboration process that accompanies the banner campaigns. We will then focus on our biggest banner fundraising campaign of the year, the English campaign, showing participants how we design banners and their messages, test banners, and evaluate results. Participants then will have the opportunity to share their ideas of what they would like to see in fundraising banners.

Inclusivity: This session emphasizes the importance of involving our communities in our fundraising efforts to have a wider impact. Impact: This session will provide a practical forum for attendees to share their ideas and thoughts on banner fundraising and have an impact on how banner messaging develops going forward. Sustainability: Strong and appealing banner fundraising messages, created with input from the community, help to build long term financial sustainability for the movement.
