2025:Users with Extended Rights Convening/hu
Join us at a one-day Wikimania preconference (August 5th) for users with extended rights. This event will bring together dozens of administrators and other elected community members from various Wikimedia projects to a first-of-its-kind gathering!

With dis- and misinformation, vandalism, and security threats on the rise, the work of users with extended rights has never been more important. To support it, this year the Wikimedia Foundation is bringing to Wikimania more users with extended rights than ever before, with additional scholarships specifically for this group and invites them to a full day of discussions, workshops and sessions designed especially for them (and with them!).
The event will support building more connections and knowledge exchange among users with extended rights across the projects, and create a space for learning and discussions.
Through this event we want to support this group of users who are crucial for the safety and the sustainability of the Wikimedia projects.
Program
The program will be created in the cooperation with the participants.

It will be focused on learning from each other, creating a sense of belonging, and collaboration. The topics will include:
- moderation tools and workflows
- supporting a sustainable project
- safety
- common policies on different projects
The specifics are currently under development, and updates will be sent to attendees directly.
Participation
Participation is open to Wikimedians with extended rights: administrators, bureaucrats, checkusers, stewards, and similar elected community roles. If you are a user with extended rights who is coming to Wikimania and interested in the event, please either mark that in the registration form or send an email to Rae or Natalia.
