2026:Pré-conferências

Reunir as comunidades, afiliados e parceiros da Wikimedia para workshops, discussões estratégicas, colaboração técnica e capacitação antes da conferência principal.
As pré-conferências oferecem uma combinação de sessões formais e informais — maratonas de edição, encontros e reuniões de governança — que ajudam a definir o tom para a experiência completa da Wikimania. A maioria das pré-conferências são organizadas por grupos ou organizações já estabelecidas.
Os organizadores disponibilizarão um local para os participantes por meio dia ou um dia inteiro. Todos os demais aspectos da pré-conferência são organizados pelo grupo que a solicitou, incluindo: anunciar a pré-conferência, encontrar participantes e palestrantes, gerenciar convites, criar uma agenda, organizar atividades, etc.
Condições:
- É necessário solicitar a participação na pré-conferência aos organizadores, através do processo de envio de propostas.
- Uma pré-conferência é um encontro de usuários ou amigos do nosso movimento. Por favor, indique a quem se destina a sua pré-conferência e qual seria o número de participantes.
- A pessoa que comparecer pessoalmente à Wikimania deverá ser designada como ponto de contato com os organizadores.
- O grupo responsável pela organização da pré-conferência encarrega-se de convidar os participantes, organizá-la, facilitar a participação remota, etc. Os organizadores da Wikimania disponibilizam uma sala (e serviço de alimentação para as sessões de dia inteiro); eles não oferecem gravação de vídeo nem tradução simultânea para as pré-conferências.

Some pre-conference sessions are by invitation only, or for specific audiences. The others are open to the public, all subject to registration.

- Advocacy and policy professionals from non-Wikimedia organisations will run capacity building trainings for Wikimedians from all over the world. Topics may include developing a communications strategy, coalition building and talking to decision makers.

- The Commons Photographers User Group organizes a preconference for the members of the user group and all people interested in photography and Wikimedia Commons. There will be two main tracks: "photography and projects", where photographers share their projects and experiences with others. The second track will be "Commons policies", where we discuss the future of Wikimedia Commons.
