Overview
As part of the official programming at Wikimania 2026 in Paris, WikiAfrica Hour will be hosting special morning pre-conference sessions titled Morning Briefings @Wikimania. These 30-minute live-streamed conversations with in-person delegates will take place each morning from the 22nd to the 25th of July, from 09:00 to 09:30 Paris time (08:00 UTC).
The Morning Briefings connect the in-person and online audiences through a dynamic and engaging format. Each day will feature live interviews with Wikimania speakers, delegates and other special guests. The conversations will highlight the key events, themes, and sessions of the day and the conference, while also sharing insights from conference activities.
Broadcast and live streamed to YouTube and EventYay, these briefings provide an exciting and interactive space to inspire engagement and answer community questions. This is the second iteration of the WikiAfrica Hour Morning Briefings, launched at Wikimania Nairobi in 2025. View them on YouTube
Organizers
This event is organized by Isla Haddow-Flood and the WikiAfrica Hour production team in coordination with the Wikimania 2026 Organizing Committee, with additional support by Wiki In Africa communications and the Wikimania 2026 Tech, Online, and Communications teams.
How to Participate
The WikiAfrica Hour Morning Briefings will be livestreamed on:
- YouTube – Wiki In Africa channel
- Facebook and LinkedIn pages of Wiki In Africa.
(links will be shared daily in the general meeting broadcasted by Wikimania Online Team)
- For onsite participants: Feel free to join the stream via your devices or come and attend them physically.
- For online attendees: The livestream links will be sent to your registered email or Telegram channels daily. You are also welcome to post questions or comments, which may be featured live during the session.

Guest Host profiles
Alexandra Tchuileu
Ceslause Ogbonnaya is an education enthusiast. Ceslause joined the Wikimedia movement in 2018 and has been actively involved in the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. He joined Wiki In Africa in 2021 where he was initially an intern, then Wiki In Africa and Wiki Loves Africa Community Liaison and WikiAfrica Hour host.
He was Wikimedian-In-Residence at Africa No Filter, leading the African Union’s and Wikimedia Foundation’s partnership project, Africa Knowledge Initiative, aimed at leveraging three AU holidays (Africa Youth Day, Wangari Maathai Day, Africa Day), Wikipedia and its sister projects to close the digital divide about Africans and Africa.
He currently is the Wikimedian-In-Residence leading the AfroCreatives WikiProject, in the effort to close the gap that exists on the digital space about African film & TV, African Fashion, African Photography and African literature using Wikipedia and its sister projects.
