2026:Program/Opening ceremony

From Wikimania

A quiet room for the opening ceremony?

Every year, the Wikimania opening ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the Wikimedians of the year (awards ceremony), showcase the host country's dances and/or music, and enthusiastically applaud the speeches, etc. It's a joyful and noisy affair!

However, this year we would like to offer a quieter option: a live broadcast of the main amphitheater in an adjoining auditorium. This room can hold 150 people. It would have dimmed lights and we would use (silent applause).

Before launching this, we would like to know how many people would be interested. We need to confirm if a good proportion of attendees would be interested by these options, as it impacts the total number of Wikimania attendees.

Could you vote below?

(Of course, we would apply the same approach for the closing ceremony.)

If needed, I could attend the opening ceremony in the quiet broadcast room. - Vote
