Virtual attendees can watch all sessions, except the ones in room C+D, and the ones that have the no-recording logo. A chat was provided on the Eventyay platform for remote participation.

隨住我哋身處嘅世界不斷轉變，我哋對活動安全同保安嘅做法亦必須與時並進。我哋希望盡一切努力，去保護維基狂熱，令佢成為一個可以安全聯繫、協作同共同學習嘅空間，並為此改良咗活動嘅報名程序。呢啲更新屬於更廣泛嘅加強安全措施之一，旨在降低風險、提高參與者身份嘅透明度，並更好地配合安全同保安嘅最佳實踐。呢啲措施結合埋一齊，可以提升活動主辦方減輕同回應可能出現問題嘅能力。

喺所有維基媒體運動嘅活動（包括巴黎維基狂熱）之中，實體出席嘅報名方式將會改為『請求邀請』。線上活動嘅報名方式則維持不變。新嘅時間表同流程會喺下面詳細說明。我哋預先多謝你抽空去熟悉新嘅流程，亦感謝你喺我哋推行新措施期間所付出嘅耐性。

請求邀請流程

概述：所有報名親身出席巴黎維基狂熱嘅人士，都需要透過「請求邀請」嚟進行報名，以便喺確認出席資格之前，進行深入嘅信任與安全審查。呢個做法不論喺審查深度定係先後次序上都屬於一項轉變——喺過往幾年，參與者會先完成報名，之後先接受審查。目前呢套「請求邀請」流程已經喺其他維基媒體活動入面成功試行。

請注意：呢個流程並不適用於維基媒體基金會嘅獎學金得主（佢哋已經通過咗信任與安全審查），亦不適用於想線上參與維基狂熱嘅人士。呢兩類參與者可以直接一步到位完成報名。線上參與維基狂熱嘅報名渠道將會維持開放，直至活動開始前24個鐘為止。

• 報名開始嘅時間將會比過往幾年大幅提早。咁樣做可以進行更深入嘅信任與安全審查，同時亦能確保獲得批准嘅參與者有足夠時間去落實報名並安排行程。
• 參與者唔係直接報名，而係要先提交請求邀請嚟開始報名程序。所有請求將會以滾動方式（收到即辦）進行審查。每位提交請求嘅人士都會喺十四（14）日之內收到電郵回覆。
• 報名由3月底開始開放至5月1號，或者額滿即止。
  • 我哋預計今年嘅名額依然會入滿，所以請盡早提交你嘅請求邀請！
• 基於信任同安全嘅考慮，所有請求將會按照「先提交、先審查」嘅原則進行處理。審查工作會由維基媒體基金會嘅相關團隊以及維基狂熱核心組織團隊共同負責。
• 一旦獲得批准，參與者就會收到電郵通知，入面會附帶一個用嚟支付報名費以確認出席資格嘅連結。
  • 參與者必須喺收到電郵後嘅七日之內，撳入連結並輸入付款資料，否則其名額可能會被取消，並讓予埋候補名單上嘅其他人。
• 報名費為100美元，並獲得維基媒體基金會嘅大幅資助。費用已經包埋開幕同閉幕活動、紀念品福袋，以及成個大會期間嘅餐飲。
• 可提交嘅請求邀請數量將會根據場地容量嚟設定。一旦達到呢個上限，有意出席嘅人士可以將自己嘅名加到候補名單。咁樣做係為咗確保總出席人數符合場地管理方及其安全與疏散指引。
• 一旦達到最高人數限制，名額就會入滿，到時將無法再提交任何請求邀請。呢場活動好大機會額滿，所以如果你計劃出席，請盡早提交你嘅請求邀請！
• 喺收到確認電郵之前，我哋呼籲你切勿預訂無法退款嘅機票行程或酒店住宿。有關預訂住宿嘅建議，請睇吓「交通與住宿」頁面。

常見問題

參與者審查期間，究竟係審查緊咩內容？

審查範圍僅限於對每位提出請求嘅參與者進行信任與安全方面嘅考慮。遭到全域封禁嘅用戶將不獲允許出席維基狂熱。大會亦會考慮其他與安全相關嘅因素，例如過往曾否違反友善空間方針。所有審查將會按照『先提交、先審查』嘅原則進行。

The registration fee for Wikimania is $100 USD. It covers food at the opening and closing of the event, lunches throughout the event, snacks, goodie bags, and other costs, and is heavily subsidized by the Wikimedia Foundation. We ask attendees to pay the registration fee as an indication that they are serious about attending the event. If your plans change or you are unable to attend, we ask that you do not complete registration so that another community member can register.

As part of the scholarship review process, all scholars have had trust and safety vetting and thus do not need to go through a second one. You will receive a registration code that will allow you to complete registration in one step and free of charge.

The number of requests for invitation that are able to be submitted will be limited in accordance with event capacity. The ability to request an invitation will close once we have hit that number, and other prospective attendees will be able to put their name on the waitlist. We advise you to request your invitation early!

If your request is not confirmed, you will be advised via email within fourteen (14) days of submitting your request. However, as Wikimania is a fully hybrid event and we encourage you to register to attend the virtual event and join others online.

No, you will not be able to walk-in or swap places with someone else. Only those with a confirmed invite/ticket will be allowed entry. If you believe you have an exceptional circumstance, please email us at wikimaniawikimedia.org. We will not respond to requests made on Telegram or other social media channels.

Attendees joining virtually will be able to register in one step and can register up to 24 hours before Wikimania begins.

To ensure we can uphold our commitment to youth safety at Wikimania, anyone under the age of 18 will not be allowed at the in-person event unless supervised at all times by a parent/legal guardian. The parent/legal guardian must register as a Wikimania attendee and email the event organizers at wikimaniawikimedia.org for additional instructions on how to add a minor to their booking.

Youth under 18 will not be permitted at the opening party or closing party, and parents/legal guardians should consider the family friendliness of the sessions they choose to attend, including the opening and closing ceremonies which often have lights and loud music.

There will also be accessible bathrooms for diaper changing.

Prospective in-person attendees can visit the registration page and add themselves to the waitlist by entering an email address.

• Step 1 : If a slot frees up, the person next on the waiting list will receive an email with a link to request an invite. This link will work for 48 hours, so if you are on the waiting list, please check all folders in your email daily for a message from info@eventyay.com. If you do not complete the request for invitation within 48 hours, the system will automatically offer the place to someone else.

• Step 2 : Your request for invitation will then be processed by our trust and safety team. You can expect a response via email within 14 days.

• Step 3: If the request is approved, you will receive an email with a link to complete registration. Payment must be initiated within 7 days in order to secure your ticket. If you do not initiate payment within 7 days, the system will automatically offer that place to someone else.

Those on the waitlist are encouraged to check their email daily, including spam and other folders, for a message from infoeventyay.com.

Yes. We are working closely with the venue to expand the capacity of the event by 200-300 people. This entails booking extra space for the opening ceremony, as well as additional breakout space. The trade-off is that the amphitheater will not be able to accommodate all Wikimania attendees during the opening ceremony. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we balance attendance between the main amphitheater and the extra space which we will be setting up as a fun lounge with snacks.

As of 10 July, approximately 350 people have come off the waitlist as the team removes duplicate registrations, processes cancellations, and releases additional tickets in accordance with the expanded event capacity.

Speakers of accepted sessions who did not get to register for the event in time have now been able to register for the event. We have now released the tickets not needed by speakers to the waitlist. The waitlist will now continue to churn, at a slower rate, as people cancel and as we refine final numbers.
