🏛️ UNESCO
Inaugurated in 1958, UNESCO’s iconic headquarters was conceived through an extraordinary international collaboration bringing together some of the greatest architects and artists of the twentieth century. During this guided tour, participants will explore a building that embodies the ideals of dialogue, cooperation and the promotion of peace that continue to shape UNESCO’s work today.
The tour offers a unique opportunity to discover an exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art, featuring masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi and many others. As visitors move through conference halls, gardens and spaces rarely accessible without a guide, they will uncover the stories behind these artworks and the vision that transformed UNESCO Headquarters into a living museum of international cooperation.

💎 The Sorbonne University Mineral Museum
The Sorbonne University Mineral Museum is a venue for permanent and temporary exhibitions open to the public, located on the Pierre and Marie Curie campus in Paris. It contains more than a hundred educational objects and instruments, as well as nearly 16,500 specimens. Some are part of the university’s heritage collections and trace its history, while others are used for research and teaching in a wide variety of fields. Each year, the museum also presents a themed temporary exhibition. Following “Crystalline Synthesis” in 2026, the 2027 exhibition will address the issue of toxic substances.

Explore the Curie Museum with our mediation guide and immerse yourself in the world of the Radium Institute: an iconic site of Marie Curie’s research on radioactivity, built in 1914.
Located in the latter laboratory directed by the scientist, at the heart of the famous Montagne Sainte-Geneviève in Paris’s 5th arrondissement, the Curie Museum contains archival documents, scientific instruments, and personal items.
Throughout the tour, you’ll explore the four main themes of the permanent exhibition and follow both the story of a family honored with five Nobel Prizes—Marie and Pierre Curie, as well as Frédéric and Irène Joliot-Curie—and the history of their laboratory.
You’ll explore the history of radioactivity and radiation therapy, as well as the work and discoveries of the Curies and Joliot-Curies, not to mention the impact of their research conducted within these very walls.
A highlight of the visit: you’ll step into Marie Curie’s office and small personal laboratory, preserved in their original condition. It was here that she worked during the last 20 years of her life, from 1914 to 1934.

📮 The Postal Museum
The Postal Museum celebrates its 80th anniversary
With the status change of the Post to a public company in 1991, the museum became de facto one of the few remaining corporate museums in France. Its own history matters!
Why not offering a postal perspective on the themes of the Wikimedia conference? Freedom, echoing the construction of the French nation-state and the role assigned to Post in the 19th century. Equity, exploring accessibility and its modalities in a large territorial country after the French Revolution. 🗳️ French National Assembly
Discover the Palais-Bourbon, the heart of the French National Assembly.
The building was constructed in the 18th century by the Duchess of Bourbon, daughter of Louis XIV. During the French Revolution, it became the seat of parliamentary assemblies, featuring decorations that date back to the first half of the 19th century. Come and discover the history of the Sainte-Geneviève Library and its remarkable building (1851) designed by architect Henri Labrouste. The tour covers the origins of the library and its collections, its architecture, and its current operations. It includes access to areas usually closed to the public, such as the book stacks and the director's office.

Presentation of Documents from the Sainte-Geneviève Library
The library digitizes and uploads its most remarkable documents online under the public domain license. Come and discover a selection of these documents in their original form, presented by the collection curators: medieval manuscripts, incunabula, rare and antique books, and prints. You can then find their freely reusable digital versions on our digital library, Genovefa.

🌺 The Luxembourg Greenhouses
The Luxembourg greenhouses have been administered and managed by the Senate since 1879. They are both a place where plants are produced to embellish the gardens and decorate the Luxembourg Palace with flowers, and a place where plant heritage dating back to the middle of the 19th century is preserved.
Since the Carthusian estate was attached to the Luxembourg Gardens shortly after the French Revolution (1796), there have always been greenhouses here.
Today, the 3,600 m² site includes : an orangery, built in the 1860s but quickly converted to other uses, a series of greenhouses, including the orchid greenhouse, made up of 7 "chapels" reproducing the different climates of the plants' regions of origin, glazed frames, an area for composting plant waste.
"Integrated pest management" is practised in the greenhouses: natural predators (flies, mites) are introduced to combat crop pests (aphids, whiteflies, etc.).
