Joe Sutherland

Joe Sutherland is a Lead Trust and Safety Specialist at the Wikimedia Foundation. Having created a Wikipedia account in 2006, he became an English Wikipedia administrator in 2008. He eventually joined the Wikimedia Foundation in 2013 as a Communications Volunteer, then moved to the Community Advocacy (now Trust and Safety) team in 2016. In this role, Joe works as a liaison to multiple community groups, undertakes user conduct investigations, works on Legal operations, and helps to develop Foundation policy around thorny issues like child protection.
