Wikisource Community MeetupOther90This is the meetup for everyone interested in Wikisource or already active on the project!
AffCom: Meet and GreetOther90The Affiliations Committee advises and makes recommendations regarding the recognition and existence of Wikimedia movement affiliates.

AffCom is ready to meet, discuss and answer all stakeholder questions during Wikimania.

Knowledge Equity - A collection of voices to pave the pathRoundtable Discussions (2x)90A group of seven Wikimedian women is currently writing essay pieces on various aspects of the spectrum of knowledge equity that will then form an online publication. The goal: Making existing approaches to knowledge equity visible and discussable. Central to this is the view that we as a movement will have to widen our perspective to make room for very different needs and new forms of knowledge.
Wikifunctions and Abstract WikipediaPanel Discussions (2x)90Later this year we will launch the first new Wikimedia project in eight years, Wikifunctions. We want to offer the community the opportunity to learn about and discuss our plans, how this project may provide opportunities to change the work in the projects. We will present Abstract Wikipedia, a project to remove the language barriers between the Wikipedia communities and to allow contributors to work on a truly global common encyclopedia that can be shared across languages.
How The Wikipedia Library can help you write great articlesTutorials (2x)90The Wikipedia Library (https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/) provides active editors with free access to a vast collection of reliable sources of information. In this tutorial we'll show you what the library has to offer and how to use it to write great Wikipedia articles.
Shared Experiences on the Process of Setting Three Taiwan Indigenous Languages on WikipediaMixed (90 min)901,257 are classified as the Austronesian languages in 7,319 languages all around the world. 21 Taiwan languages belong to the 1,257 Austronesian languages. Currently, there are 33 Austronesian languages approved and having their own pages on Wikipedia, where Taiwan has 3. Hence, we would like to share successful experiences with our honorable guests.
Boosting GLAM partnerships with technology and statisticsMixed (90 min)90Measuring the impact of Wikimedia projects is a key success factor to develop and strengthen partnerships with memory institutions. In this session Wikimedia Switzerland presents the GLAM statistical tool - Cassandra explaining its history, a life demonstration of the current tool and the concept for a global roll-out to make it accessible to other affiliates.
Moderator Tools on Medium-sized Wikimedia projectsWorkshops (2x)90The Wikimedia Foundation Product department is exploring moderation needs in Medium-sized Wikimedia projects. In this workshop we want to hear about the tools, scripts, bots, and other processes that editors need to maintain the quality of content on their project.
Appellate Body, procedure to treat contributionsOther90I have a very simple request. Righteously for contributions to Wikipedia we need some controlling body. But who controls the controllers?
Introducing the Capacity ExchangeMixed (90 min)90As part of the European Affiliate meetings we (a small group of volunteers and affiliates) have started working on the Capacity Exchange. A place for the Wikimedia movement to offer and find skill training, services, resources or fellow people. We want to use this session to update you on our progress and hope to gather more interest from participants.
WikiEducation Approach and GLAM Activities of Wikimedia ArmeniaLectures (3x)90Education and GLAM projects are a major direction for Wikimedia Armenia, we currently have several projects on both education and GLAM. We see the future of WMAM educational projects in further collaboration with different universities and schools, and the expansion of the idea of WikiClubs and WikiClassrooms in all settlements of Armenia.

The future of GLAM projects is more collaboration and integration of different GLAM institutions through Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects.

A Gift to the Commons: Public Value BroadcastersCase Studies (3x)90As a movement that supports free knowledge, we commend the global task force and would like to add that the high-quality educational content being provided by public broadcasters should be

freely licensed, wherever possible paid fairly accessible everywhere (and not subject to geo-blocking) accessible anytime (without an expiry date for informational and educational content)

Education, Wikimedia Projects and Digital Literacy during COVID-19 PandemicMixed (90 min)90Throughout 2020 and 2021 Wikimedia chapters and user groups in Mexico, Latin America and Spain developed different strategies to implement Wikimedia projects as pedagogical tools in secondary and higher level. In this session we propose to address and discuss the different strategies that education programs and local wikimedia chapters developed to support their educational community with tools according to their needs and contexts.
Email campaigning for onboarding new volunteers.Lectures (3x)90To attract new editors to Wikipedia, the new editor’s team at WMDE developed a new format in 2019: A 30 day email campaign. This campaign is special, because it combines activating interested people and also onboarding them into Wikipedia. For 30 days, the subscribers receive information about the "Wikiverse" and are slowly introduced to editing. In this session we want to share our learnings and key takeaways from this campaign, which we think can be used as a model for similar formats.
