goes Caribbean

I am currently the project leader for Wiki goes Caribbean (at Wikimedia Nederland). In this project we try and improve, extend, update information and knowledge about Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, St. Maarten, Statia and Saba) on different Wiki projects like Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. More information on our meetings, online editathons and all the participants you will find on our (Dutch) project page on nl.wiki. There will be a project page on the English Wikipedia in the near future.

Apart from organising online and offline activities one of the other project goals of Wiki goes Caribbean is to facililtate and support GLAMs with digitising and publishing their data and media files to Wikidata or Wikimedia Commons. Until June 2018 I was (with this account) the Wikimedian in Residence voor the memory of the World programme of Unesco Netherlands. In 2018 the focus of the MOW project was 'Heritage of the Dutch Caribbean'.

From Monday 12th tot Monday 19th I will be in Stockholm for the Hackathon and Wikimania. You can for example find me

• Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th at the hackathon
• Saturday 17th 10.30-11.00 (in Szymborska A5137) I will do a presentation 'A new year of Techstorming'.
• Saturday 17th from 16.30 - 16.40 (in D499 Lessing room) I will have a lightning talk Let's collaborate: Wiki goes Caribbean
• Saturday 17th During the poster session (17.30 - 19.00) I will be standing at my poster (to talk with you!) 'Let's collaborate: Wiki goes Caribbean'

• Sunday 11.60 - 12.15 I will participate in the session Copyrights in Wikidata
• Sunday 12.15-13.00 I will participate in the session Describing files on Structured Commons: problems and opportunities
