Description
[edit | edit source]You are a Wikimedian and want to share your project with others. But internet is slow or expensive. Or the school next door has no internet whatsoever! We'll show you how to use the Kiwix hotspot creator and load the Wikimedia content of your choice in the language of your choice - and bring connectivity to people you care about.
Relationship to the theme
[edit | edit source]This session will address the conference theme — Wikimedia, Free Knowledge and the Sustainable Development Goals — in the following manner:
Education : well that one is easy. Also: you can put not only Wikipedia, but also Wikisource, the Wiktionary, MOOCs, the Gutenberg library and a lot more onto a single hotspot.
Reduced inequalities : bring internet content to people without internet access!

At the end of the session, y ou'll know where to go; how to create your own list of contents; how to download or order the microSD card for your hotspot; how to use a hotspot.
