2019:Partnerships/Free software as a partnership
|This is an Accepted submission for the Partnerships space at Wikimania 2019.|
Description[edit | edit source]
The Wikimedia movement produces MediaWiki, a knowledge management software for massively open participation, and various related tools. Other organizations use it in ways that advance the Wikimedia vision of everyone sharing the sum of human knowledge. We tend not to think of that as a partnership or potential partnership, but maybe we should. The lightning talk will show some examples of how Wikimedia software supports non-Wikimedia work aligned with our mission, and how our movement sometimes benefits from non-Wikimedia work that is supported by Wikimedia sotware.

Session outcomes[edit | edit source]
