Description
[edit | edit source]The Trust and Safety policies have been implemented for long, still there are many instances where the guidelines fail to provide a safe space for the people involved. Despite of having different committees and resources Foundation has developed for online and offline safety of the users, and a mandate to follow them, there are many instances that go unreported because they haven't been listed in the policy document thus making people ignorant towards them.
Along with this, creating a safe space for people to share their issues and find assistance to deal with them.
Relationship to the theme
[edit | edit source]This session will address the conference theme — Wikimedia, Free Knowledge and the Sustainable Development Goals — in the following manner:
This session will be in line with the Sustainable development goals of- Good Health and Well being, decent work and economic growth and reduced inequalities. A safe space helps people work freely and a free mind is the most creative and productive mind.
Session outcomes

We will all be able to discuss the unaddressed issues of safety, their impact on the people involved and movement as a whole. Probable ways to counter such issues.
