Abstract[edit source]
Ikusgela is a project specialized in pedagogical videos. Its aim is to increase the presence of the Basque language on the web and to complete the scope of Basque Wikipedia. With a fresh tone that appeals to both students and those interested in the topics being worked on, it will use a language and resources adapted to the new narratives. All the videos, moreover, have been completed with free content, mostly from Wikimedia Commons, and the material created will also be free, as a sign of a way of acting in the network.
Learning Outcomes[edit source]
Multimedia is our friend, we can add videos to make audience better understand the topic.
Remixing from Commons is possible, but painful. All the videos are made up from free images.
Students and young audiences are searching videos, instead of texts.
Biography[edit source]
I'm a member of the Basque Wikimedians User Group and wikimedian since 2006. I have been working mainly on small languages, and education, and in the last 5 years I have been working as a staff member on our Education Program.
