Wikimedia Indonesia, the Igbo Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia Deutschland will be joining forces to advance the technical capacities of the movement around Wikidata development and with this, make the software and tools more usable by cultures underrepresented in technology, people of the Global South and speakers of minority languages.
We will share our experiences about the preparation of those partnership as well as our visions, challenges and goals.

Learning Outcomes[edit source]

  • We will share our learnings about the process for setting up partnerships around Wikidata in the Wikimedia movement and how to share knowledge and resources in the Wikimedia movement
  • The audience will learn about the activities around Wikidata from two different perspectives: From the Igbo Wikimedians User Group and their activities around Wikidata Tool development and WIkimedia Indonesia and their future activities around development for Wikidata

Biography[edit source]

Benedict Udeh is the Project Lead for the Wiki Mentor Africa Program at the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. Maria Heuschkel is currently working with the product team of the Software Department at Wikimedia Deutschland. Raisha Abdillah is a product manager at Wikimedia Indonesia after being the Technical Coordinator for Wikidata at WMID. Tochi Precious is a multi-lingual program manager at the Igbo Wikimedians User Group.
