Hello Wikimania attendees!
With more than 3,000 registrants from 138 countries, Wikimania is here! We can’t wait to welcome you to Suntec and online on eventyay.
While our opening ceremony begins at 17:00 Singapore time (09:00 UTC), we have events happening throughout the day, many of which are available both in person and online.
We have a Singapore Orientation starting at 9:00 Singapore time in the Plenary Hall. We will go over tips related to public transport, activities, and other things to know while you’re here, like the fact that we have 20% off entrance to the National Museum if you show your Wikimania badge, plus $10 off entrance to Sentosa–Singapore’s largest adventure park!
The hybrid programming kicks off at 10:00 Singapore time (02:00 UTC), and there’s a lot to choose from. There will be a series of talks and hands-on workshops about Wikisource, Commons, and Wikipedia basics, as well as leadership development sessions brought to you by LetsConnect and the Leadership Development Working Group (in-person), day 2 of the Hackathon (in-person), and the first ever WikiWomen Summit—a day of gender equity-related presentations and open discussions with Wikimedians from around the world. Lunch will be served at Suntec along with morning and afternoon snacks. Take a look at the program on eventyay and add sessions to your schedule!
Then meet us in the Plenary Hall at Suntec at 17:00 Singapore time (09:00 UTC) for our big opening ceremony, featuring the Wikimedian of the Year awards! We will follow that with dinner and drinks from 19:00-21:00 Singapore time.
