Abstract

[edit source]

The Punjabi Audiobooks Project from Wikisource aims to create a vast collection of audiobooks in the Punjabi language by utilizing the open-source content available on Wikisource. The project seeks to make Punjabi literature accessible to a wider audience by producing high-quality audiobooks narrated by skilled voice actors. The project involves collaboration with volunteers and community members to digitize, transcribe and record Punjabi literature from Wikisource.

Description

[edit source]

The project seeks to preserve Punjabi literature and promote literacy by making it accessible to a wider audience through audio recordings. The project is expected to benefit Punjabi-speaking communities around the world, including those who may have limited access to printed literature. The project is being carried out in two different ways: 1. Creating audiobooks from Punjabi literature available on Wikisource: This involves collaboration with volunteers and community members to digitize, transcribe and record Punjabi literature from Wikisource.
2. Collaborating with Punjabi authors, voice actors, and recording studios: This involves creating new audiobooks in collaboration with Punjabi authors, voice actors, and recording studios to produce high-quality audiobooks that are not available on Wikisource.
