Abstract & description
[edit source]Abstract
[edit source]Wiki Loves Earth is an international photo contest devoted to natural heritage around the world and held every year since 2014. In this session, we’ll present Wiki Loves Earth International and its experience, growth, plan, and current state. As the contest entered its tenth year on the international level, we want to spread more awareness about it and engage new countries and regions to be a part of it.
Description
[edit source]During Wiki Loves Earth’s 10th years of history we have gathered over 800,000 photos of protected natural heritage sites from across the world. Each year, more and more countries become a part of the WLE community. And our goal is to spread much more awareness about the contest in order to involve new teams to contribute to picturing a natural heritage around the world. Also, we want to share current results and plans for the WLE 2023. As well, we want to represent WLE not only from the international organizing team’s perspective but also from the view of the local teams. So, this session will give an opportunity for the Wikimedia community to see the experience of some countries-organizers and to ask relevant questions.
