I am a junior doctor. I have managed to finish my degree requirements while volunteering to enrich the digital content for children with the Dadd Initiative in Germany. In the last 7 months, I have dedicated my efforts as a member of the Leadership Development Working Group (LDWG), which focuses on defining leadership in the Wikimedia context, building a leadership development plan, and implementing that plan. June - July 2022, I have also managed to participate in a pilot renowned project to celebrate Arabic Wikipedia Day by facilitating sessions to teach editing basics to newcomers. Being part of the broader movement is a consequence of my work as a Wikipedia editor. This session hosted by WikiVibrance, will showcase the collaborative power of youth within the Wikimedia movement. Through discussions on the challenges faced by youth in the movement and the ways in which they overcome these obstacles, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of supporting and empowering young people within the community. This session will feature diverse youth voices and highlight the contributions that youth bring to the movement.

WikiVibrance, a youth-focused group within the Wikimedia movement recognizes the importance of youth engagement in fostering collaboration and meaningful change. However, young people face unique challenges within the community, which can make it difficult for them to fully participate and thrive. This session will explore these challenges, while also highlighting the strength and resilience of youth who have navigated them. Participants will hear from diverse youth voices and learn about the role that wikihearts, wikiangels, and wikistars play in supporting young people and fostering collaboration within the movement. The session will be divided into different components, including discussions on strong youth collaborations, lived experiences of youth challenges, kudos, and gratitude moments as well as audience engagement on the subject. Through these discussions, participants will gain insights into the importance of creating a space that allows youth to navigate through the day-to-day challenges of being a wikimedia youth. They will also learn about creative solutions and hear from young people who have found their way out of difficult situations through the support of fellow wikimedians.
