Andrew Lih (User:Fuzheado) is one of the world’s experts on Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement and is the author of the book The Wikipedia Revolution: How a bunch of nobodies created the world’s greatest encyclopedia (2009). He currently works on open access projects with Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons images, with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution as Wikimedian at Large. In 2022, he was named a Wikimedia Laureate.

The Technology Collaboration Unconference is an event for Technology enthusiasts to connect the public technology enthusiasts with Wikimedia technology enthusiasts and learn from each other. The event aims to foster diversity, collaboration and innovation in the Wikimedia movement and beyond, by showcasing Wikimedia technology projects, tools and initiatives, and inviting participants to share their own ideas, challenges and solutions.

The event is open to anyone who is interested in technology and Wikimedia, regardless of their level of expertise or affiliation.

The event aims to foster diversity, collaboration and future-oriented thinking in the Wikimedia movement and beyond, by:

  • Providing a space for technology enthusiasts from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences to meet, network and exchange ideas
  • Increasing awareness and understanding of Wikimedia technology among Singapore Technology enthusiasts and vice versa
  • Encouraging participation and contribution to Wikimedia technology projects, tools and initiatives
  • Inspiring innovation and creativity in using technology for social good

Diversity: We aim to bring together technology enthusiasts from different backgrounds, cultures and experiences, and to showcase the diversity of Wikimedia technology projects, tools and initiatives.

Collaboration: We aim to facilitate collaboration among technology enthusiasts, both within and outside the Wikimedia movement, and to encourage participation and contribution to Wikimedia technology projects, tools and initiatives.

Future: We aim to inspire future-oriented thinking and innovation in using technology for social good, and to support the implementation of the Wikimedia 2030 Strategy recommendations.
