Abstract & description
[edit source]Abstract
[edit source]Examples and thoughts about how videototurials are helping new users being better Wikimedians.
Description
[edit source]During 2022-23 I made a series of videotutorials for the Danish community. It was partly for helping the community and partly to use for a test at students in two Danish highschools. In this short talk I will explain the thoughts about making, scructuring and presenting videotutorials as a ressource for building better content and a happy community.
Further details
[edit source]Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?
I think this relates quite well to the themes. Using tutorials in different formats is useful and helpful for users of all ages, genders and is a way for not-strong readers to access knowledge. Having a website (https://www.wikiforalle.dk) makes access easy - and I can curate the content and structure according to what I find helpful. Coming from a small country makes good instructions even more important, since the community can be very small. Everything on the site is cc-by-sa, so fully compatible with anyone's need for remaking any of the content.
Qn. What is the experience level needed for the audience for your session?
Everyone can participate in this session
Qn. What is the most appropriate format for this session?
