It is primarily for distribution in places where access to the Internet is limited or controlled. The device includes software which creates a Wi-Fi hotspot that offers closed platform access by nearby Wi Fi enabled devices.

The device includes software which creates a Wi-Fi hotspot that offers closed platform access by nearby Wi Fi enabled devices.
Wiki Project Med Foundation has been building and shipping these devices around the world since 2017. This will be an update on this project and how you might get involved.

This effort recognizes the diversity of our users. Not all people live in a location or have the finances that make access to Wikipedia or other parts of the Internet accessible. This is one small effort to try to address this.
