Abstract & description[edit source]
The session aims to showcase Movement Strategy Implementation Grants' (MSIG) grantee stories and journey, invite session participants to reflect and identify challenges to address or areas to improve in their community respectively, and brainstorm how to turn their ideas into an MSIG proposal.
Movement Strategy Implementation Grants (MSIG) support projects that take the current state of a Movement Strategy Initiative and push it one step forward. The session will start with grantees from different Wikimedia communities and groups telling the stories of how their projects are advancing the Movement Strategy implementation journeys through Pechakucha format, showcasing tangible examples of what Movement Strategy Implementation looks like in practice. In the following, participants will reflect on some guiding questions and convene in small groups to discuss the problems they want to solve or areas to improve regarding their communities, as well as brainstorm potential solutions and possible activities that can be carried out in implementation. The session aims to help participants connect the dots of abstract concepts with tangible examples and to support participants in having a better understanding of how to turn their ideas into an MSIG proposal.

Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?
Grantees from different Wikimedia communities will be invited to share their stories, which would give participants examples of MSIG projects with different regional and cultural contexts. The session is designed to support participants - particularly those from typically underrepresented communities - to connect with others that may want to collaborate on a similar area, hold space for sharing experiences and exchanging ideas, as well as brainstorm solutions together in solving challenges, in order to advance the implementation of the 2030 Wikimedia Movement Strategy.
