Abstract

New ideas and customized concept of Wiki Education are key elements to move the educational programs forward at universities in the middle. By highlighting relevant objectives and discussions with other wikimedians, we hope to sharp a concept for a more flexible way of applying Wiki Education programs.

Description

Wiki in education is still in its early stage at few universities in the middle east. Volunteers and organizers face difficulties to convince teachers to support education programs. Bureaucracy and false image of Wikipedia and the quality of its content are some major challenging factors when working of those programs. We would like to demonstrate new thoughts on how to attract students (and teachers) to join educational programs and gain feedback from the attendees in the conference to move forward in creation of a new customized concept.
