Take a tour with us through the largest free market in Latin America and discover native fruits and other traditional foods, natural essence perfums and craftmanship from the Amazonian culture in Brazil. Find out how the Wiki Loves Pará project is bringing the richness of our traditional culture to Wikimedia Commons, Wikipedia and Wikidata!

Wiki Loves Pará is a year-long project dedicated to the Pará state located in the Amazonian region. Although it is the second largest Brazilian state, it is still underrepresented in the Wikimedia projects, which means that the Amazonian culture is not visible in the open internet ecosystem. We're engaging wikimedians, GLAM institutions, young activists and educators to document local culture and bring it to Wikimedia -- and to the world!
In this video tour, we'll show traditional items from the Ver-o-peso market in Belém, capital of Pará, and the surrounding built heritage and how they are being included in the Wikimedia projects.

Wiki Loves Pará is an initiative to highlight the diversity of the local culture and support the development of Wikimedia communities in the Amazonian state of Pará, in Brazil. Pará has a unique cultural setting due to the strong indigenous presence mixed with Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese influences. One window to the diversity of the Amazonian culture of the Ver-o-peso market. We hope Wiki Loves Pará can be replicated in other Wikimedia contexts as it includes activities in collaboration with GLAM partners, Education projects and local communities on Wikimedia.
