Description[edit source]
Since September 2021, an additional general educational program "Wiki-technologies" for St. Petersburg schoolchildren aged 15-17 years has been implemented in St. Petersburg (Russia). This program is the result of a fruitful cooperation agreement between Wikimedia St. Petersburg and the Academy of Digital Technologies St. Petersburg. For a year and a half of study, we have 1 group of 15 students of the second year of study and one group of 15 people of the first year of study. The course is designed for 3 years of study, lasting 432 academic hours (2 hours 2 times a week). The purpose of this program is the formation and development of social self-determination in children and adolescents through the development of wiki technologies and digital transformation skills, the study in theory and practice of all Wikimedia projects (not just Wikipedia). Students actively use Wikimedia Commons, Wikinews, Wikidata in their work. The work, structure and achievements of the course and students will be told by additional education teacher Andrey Petrov (Wikivolunteer and member of the RPO "Wikimday St. Petersburg", in 2022 he became the first and only certified trainer of the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom course in Russia).

Volunteer work at Wikimedia St. Petersburg allows us to develop the educational potential of our NGO and copy it with other educational and cultural institutions in St. Petersburg.
