Abstract & description[edit source]

Abstract[edit source]

Wikimedia CUG Malaysia has collaborated with many embassies. Deals with the hurdles and potentials they can offer to the movement.

Description[edit source]

The user group has collaborated with many embassies in Malaysia. Mostly on edit-a-thons. So far, we have collaborated with the Embassies of Sweden, Japan, Ukraine and France. Embassies are usually quite eager to collaborate with us. The aim of the lecture is to see the hidden potential of embassies in the movement and how Wikimedia projects can be helped by them.

Further details[edit source]

Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?

The session works with the Collaboration theme. Embassies are partner organisations that we sometimes miss. For Diversity, usually we deal with the embassy’s country theme and culture for events. For Future, I would like to see the movement collaborate more with embassies to empower our events and movement.

Qn. What is the experience level needed for the audience for your session?
