Title: Wikispore: a space to grow new ideas
Speakers:
Tisza Gergő
I am a long-time Wikipedian and MediaWiki developer. Originally from Hungary, currently working in the USA (for the Wikimedia Foundation - only representing myself at Wikimania though). I'm interested in improving technical infrastructure, supporting volunteer developers, broadening and improving community self-governance, implementing movement strategy, and thinking about the future. See my user page for more info.

Abstract & description
[edit source]Abstract
[edit source]Learn about Wikispore, a new wiki where you can experiment with new areas of knowledge, new formats, new tools, and new ways of organizing content.
Description
[edit source]Wikispore is a space for experimenting with new ideas and new genres of free knowledge which might grow into their own wikis. Our hope is that it will eventually be accepted as an official Wikimedia project, and function as a staging ground for new sister projects the way the Wikimedia Incubator is a staging ground for new languages; for now it is a volunteer-run wiki that is open to all.
