The native apps team is hosting a presentation of their new editing and moderation tools. Participate in a discussion about the present and future of mobile editing on Wikipedia and share your current editing workflows and wishes for the mobile editing experience.

We are the native apps teams (iOS and Android) providing a native Wikipedia experience for mobile users. We are currently working to support a greater set of editing and moderator tools natively.
Aim: We would like to run a presentation focused on micro engagements such as the patrolling tool and reading lists to engage with the community on these topics and gather feedback.
Objectives: - Share the Apps teams roadmap and how we are moving away from being readers only and working on editing features - Present the upcoming features on apps (moderator tools and reading lists) - Gather community feedback through facilitated discussions about these features - Engage with the community outside of the workshop and interview editors - Understand the needs of Wikipedia editors who primarily use mobile devices to contribute to Wikipedia

Qn. How does your session relate to the event themes: Diversity, Collaboration Future?
As the apps teams start to add a native and mobile-first experience of the editing and moderator tools and support existing editing workflows, a large number of people that do not have access to a desktop computer can start contributing and collaborating on Wikipedia. An essential part of our session is interacting with the movement in person, answering questions, gathering feedback, and hearing what we should focus on directly from the community to guide our work.
We are also gathering feedback from communities to help modernize and iterate on the existing workflows to help improve the user experience for mobile users. In addition, we are working to improve onboarding and add structured tasks and micro-contributions to support newcomers’ contributions.
We are bringing three points of view to this talk - the user experience design and research, the engineering, and the community’s needs. We are considering how all these elements impact our products and the movement and want to hear from people of all backgrounds - editors, tech contributors, and readers.
