The future ISO 639-3 code for Taioanese (Taiwanese)[edit source]

It's great to see this proposal aiming to discuss on the future Hokkien Wikimedia projects. I hope this can encourage more Hokkien speakers to contribute on the wiki projects. Further more, some opinions from the Taiwanese community might also be brought out to discuss during or after this program. Such as the separation of the ISO 639-3 code and the sites of Wikimedia projects. Most people from the Taiwanese community don't call our language as Minnan (even my grandma doesn't know what is Minnan) but we should only contribute in the "nan" wiki projects. So if there's more Taiwanese contributors agree with this, I hope we can work together to somehow build our own Wikimedia sites for our own language. For example, we can start with adding Taiwanese category on the "nan" wiki projects to show that the contribution of Taiwanese (Taiwanese language) are big enough. Then later when the "oan" sites are created, we can move all the contents under the category of Taiwanese there then. Iyumu (talk) 03:15, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
