Wikimania 2024

Before going to Wikimania

I was part of Programme team where I reviewed 'Open Data' tracks.

At Wikimania

• Attended various sessions by the community members
• Presented a poster about Open Data Kerala initiative
• Attended several meetups and discussions including
  • OpenRefine Meetup With the help of User:Pintoch able to fix an bug while using OpenRefine with Wikibase.Cloud
  • Community and organisers meet-up of Wiki Loves Folklore and Feminism and Folklore initiatives
  • Wikimaps User Group meetup and OpenStreetMap birthday party
  • Met Wiki Loves Earth International organising team and discussed the idea to bring Wiki Loves Earth In India
• Shared some postcards, keychains and stickers from India at Exchange table.
• Met community members from different regions - learned and shared the learnings.
• Joined the Silesian Stadium, Planetarium tours and also City walking tours to the historic settlement of Katowice and the architecture of katowice and learned more about the history and culture.

After coming back home

• Watched some of the sessions I missed on YouTube.
• Shared my learnings with community members during the Wikimedians of Kerala User Group's Monthly Meetup for August 2024 and highlighted these updates in the August 2024 edition of the newsletter.
• Uploaded photos and videos from Wikimania events and city tours to Wikimedia Commons, adding structured data using OpenRefine.
• Organized an Orientation Call for the Malayalam Community to guide participants on applying for Wikimania 2025.
