[edit | edit source]This presentation would be based on the GLAM project that was done by me as Wikimedian-in-Residence with a Government library in Punjab, India. The presentation will emphasis on the impact of GLAM projects on small language Wikis like Punjabi Wikisource on online platforms and how partnerships with GLAM institutions can help in sustaining and sharing rare knowledge on open source platforms such as Commons and Wikisource. The GLAM project involved, partnership with Municipal Library Patiala, researching copyright status of old Punjabi Literature books, integration of content with Wikisource. The project ended with a 40 day contest and by the end of the contest there were 5500 pages proofread which made Punjabi Wikisource one of the most active and fastest growing wikimedia project globally in terms of content and editor demographics.

The overall impact of this project was directly resultant in reducing knowledge and content inequalities, quality education - availability of rare resources of literature, partnership with Government GLAM institution.
