Description
[edit | edit source]Wiki Loves Love (WLL) was an international photographic contest to document cultural heritage in various regions of the world. The idea of this poster session is to showcase the case study of the international commons contest, Wiki Loves Love that was organized by Wikimedia community in February 2019. The theme of this project was to document cultural heritage of different regions around the globe with colorful festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love. The result of this project was over 6100 images from over 100 countries covering some of the rare dance forms, rituals and festivals that are missing from Wikimedia commons, thus, bridging an important gap. Over 2000 participants, including, photographers and Wikimedia members contributed in the contest. The case study will evaluate the impact report and the project design with illustrations.
