The Jungwikipedianer (JWP in short; German for “Young Wikipedians” or “Youth Wikipedians”), founded in 2008, are a special user group on the German-language Wikipedia aimed at supporting underage contributors until the age of 18. We want to involve young people in a way that they do not feel intimidated by adult contributors and the sometimes overwhelming community, and continue to be active, even after they turn 18. During the years, we have organised both onwiki and offwiki projects, although participation has been fluctuating quite a bit. Currently, there are 28 members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The poster will look at the things we have done and what our current problems are. Also, we are interested in the situation of underage Wiki(p/m)edians in other projects and regions of the world; and whether an international youth group might be possible.
