Abstract
[edit | edit source]With its Attribution Generator, Wikimedia Deutschland has built an easy-to-use tool supporting the generation of license notices for all images hosted on Wikimedia Commons. In 2020, we have developed a prototype for its successor - Curated Commons. The platform is intended to adopt the role of a central and neutral intermediary, enabling users to discover and compare suitable images on the various platforms in the easiest possible way. In the recent months, we developed a minimal viable product (MVP), started to review all its elements and test their implementation in practice. The session is intended to be a starting point for gathering feedback as well as further conversation and collaboration with interested individuals and communities.
Session Outcomes
[edit | edit source]The session will introduce Curated Commons. We will provide insights into our research and lessons learned. We invite participants to reflect on our findings together - this would be a true enrichment for our further work and an important factor for developing a solution everyone can use and adapt to their own contexts.
I'm planning to attend this session live!
