Abstract
[edit | edit source]The session will cover important learnings related to inclusive and safe online meetings, each presented by a different person from Wikimedia’s Volunteer Supporters Network. The topics covered will include: choosing the best platform for your event (Sandro WMDE), pre-event preparation, LGBT+ friendly events, writing and enforcing safe space policies for online events, working with partners and other participants outside the movement.

Session Outcomes
[edit | edit source]- the audience will learn about different aspects of online meetings aimed at different audiences, contributing to a good and welcoming atmosphere
- the listeners will gain knowledge about providing safety for their participants - from effective policies and ways of enforcing them during the meeting to reaching out for help in emergency situations
- the audience will see how the online meetings can help to reach and include people that would not normally take part in offline activities
