Abstract
[edit | edit source]Have you ever wondered what does the Wikimedia Foundation board do? Who are the board members? How do they make decisions? Come join board members from the Foundation as they unpack the role of the board at the Wikimedia Foundation.
We'll spend the first 30 minutes hearing about the past and present of the Wikimedia Foundation board through short lightning talks unpacking how decisions are made, the choices they have had to make in the past, the challenges, and how it all fits together now in the present.
Then join the board for 20 minutes in an interactive session imagining the future of the world, the internet, and the Wikimedia Foundation post-2030. Co-create on an empty canvas what could the Wikimedia Foundation Board look like in this brave new world.
Stay on for a marathon 40 minutes of questions and answer session between the audience and board members at the end.
