2022 talk:Present and future

From Wikimania

Browser compatibility[edit source]

Not only is their JavaScript proprietary, but it overtly promotes Google Chrome and analogs. I use PaleMoon/31.1.1 and the text chat form (<div class="sender d-flex">) doesn’t work. There are also scores of error messages in the browser console. What are experiences of other non-Chrome users?

If anybody who hears me can write to Pheedloop chats, then advertise this page, please. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 07:47, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

From my direct experience it didn't work at all with Firefox and/or Chromium on Ubuntu GNU/Linux. I'm very sad since to join the Wikimania community I have to drop their community ideologies, and drop free formats (no support to any WEBM) and software freedom ad privacy (Pheedloop embeds Google Analytics). Moreover, a moderator using macOS was also not able to share a PDF or the screen, and a moderator using a recent Android with both Firefox and Chrome was not able to share their rear camera (!). This is nonsense. Anything FLOSS is better, comparing to anything basic like, Jitsi Meeting who has serious audio management, multiple screen shares, and simple streaming options and good mobile support. -Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 12:50, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
