Wikimania 2021, the sixteenth Wikimedia conference, was a virtual event to be organized by a diverse group of global volunteers. The 2021 edition was originally announced to be an in-person/ physical event, scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from the postponement of Wikimania 2020 in view of the 2019-20 COVID-19 pandemic. It was originally scheduled from 5 to 9 August, 2020.
In January 2021 it's been announced that 2021 edition will take place online.
